I’ve been one of the more fortunate people in this whole situation because I was able to continue doing my work.

I had a studio residency last year, and I felt so badly for the artists this year. My work is mostly derived from things that happen at home, so it was very possible for me to continue working. There was nothing else to do besides work this summer, so I got to pour myself into it. I felt really glad I had the show to focus on because I would’ve been a lot more stressed if I hadn’t had anything planned. Louis Fratino: Hi! Well, I live in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, with my boyfriend Thomas Barger, a sculptor, and our dog, and we share a studio in Bushwick, and yes, all but two of the paintings I made over the summer.
